Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

This part of the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. You know, I can’t explain with the word what I’ve read. This is an amazing novel. I read it on Indonesia language. I still feeling somber from the previous book, Shadows, because of Dawson and Bethany, but I dove into this next book with open enthusiasm. Of course, knowing that there were other aliens after Luxens, bad thing were bound happpen. But, I’m not going to naratte what happened in the novel because I don’t waant give away spoilers.
Daemon : I checked out your blog.
Katy : Stalking me again, I see. Do I need to get a restraining order?
Daemon : In your dreams Kitten. Oh wait, I’m already starring in those, aren’t I?
Katy : Nightmares, Daemon. Nightmares.
Katy character is relatable. She likes to read book, update her blog, and spend her time in her garden. Katy and her mom arrived at West Virginia from Florida. They moved because her father died of cancer so they’re need to have a fresh start.
Since Katy mostly kept to herself, her mom asked her to make an effort and be friend their neighbors. Daemon was rude right off the bat, while Dee became fond of Katy. She was very confused as to why Daemon had this animosity towards her. She wants to love him, but he made it hard for her to do so.
Beautiful face. Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys.
Daemon in the book was the broody and smoldering alien-hot-guy. If JLA read this, I would say “Yeah, you made my day thouhgt full of Daemon” what a miserable. In my imagination Daemon is swoon-worthy. He was sweet guy, who loves his sister so much including Katy.
If she was mine, I’d cherish every inch of her. And I wanted to. Now.
The funny and flirtatious banter between Katy and Daemon was something that I loved from this novel. Daemon likes calling Katy “Kitten” and even thought Katy always expresses her dislike.
A lot of people have compared this series to Twilight, and I would have to agree, however, althouhg Katy’s character was introverted, she wasn’t dull. Katy was lusting over Daemon , she didn’t act like damsel. Well, there were weak moments. But still, that was fun.
If you like books with strong female characters, then read this series. I think you’ll not regret

Read from November 14 to 15, 2014.
